Where Has Our Magick Gone?

I am a non theistic Pagan. I have "labelled" myself incorrectly for quite a few years as atheist. I still don't believe in deities controlling our lives but believe in the power of magick and the unseen energies that surround us. I do believe in the power of nature, science, alchemy, true magick and the abilities we all at one time had.
With our current society we have forgot these abilities due to the controlling factors of organized religion.
At one time in our society a long time ago,  children were brought before elders, where ever they lived, and children presented their abilities, whether powerful or weak to them. Many children were taught to enhance and practice their abilities and not to be afraid of what they could do. We have been so scolded by religion to not use these natural abilities.  Some people have great strength. I have met people that have said abilities and have been shamed to think that these abilities are deemed evil.  The electrical energy and abilities  in our bodies is literally magickal. We have been so controlled by religion to think that our gifts are evil. It's one of the reasons that I so despise all religions.
The power of the mind over ourselves and bodies can be astounding. I have read articles of people that with the power of the mind has healed them. A lot of people say it is a deity intervention but sadly don't realize that the power of a healthy thought, will, determination, strength and mind can actually heal themselves. The saying of physician heal thy self has a profound enlightenment. It truly is a very valid point.
Religions can and will stifle the natural abilities the each and every individual has within them. We have have been told they are evil and of the devil or whatever man made deity that has been made up. We as a society need a scape goat for short comings and stupidity. Blame the so called deities for your fuck up or misfortune is childishly pathetic.  Shit happens in our lives and we have literally ourselves to blame for this. Many things are out of control as we live in a chaotic society. The events in our life good and bad are literally of our surroundings and people. We are not in control of people. What path they chosen, good or bad is made of events in their lives and choices a person does through out their lives.
Every person on this planet has problems, but to blame some else or some imaginary friend for your misfortune is missing the point for a great opportunity to reflect on yourself for improvement. This also doesn't give you licence to have a pity party and feel sorry for yourself. It is a time to look inward to fix YOUR personal mistakes.
For years I have battled depression, and I finally now realize that my blame on other people and things for my condition is all my fault. I now know that I literally need to  look at the man in the mirror and find the magick that I have so long have forgotten.
Magick is a great thing. And should be embraced, nurtured and practiced. Contrary to what people think or say...there is no such thing as light or dark magick. There is just magick. Period.

The Joys Of Our Unsecured World.

Well, I finally broke down and got a VPN. I have been procrastinating about getting one, but with all the criminals and scammers and computer attacks, a person has to really be smarter.
Criminals and fraudsters are getting more and more quicker to steal stuff from your computer and we are getting dumber and dumber to give these idiots our info.
In a digital society, the need for security even for our tabs and phones are becoming more apparent. Thieves are literally waiting at every corner to take our money, identity and pretty much our lives from us.
We need to become smarter.
My friend, Harry Tucker, is probably one of the smartest and kindest man I know. He is also is a tech wiz. I asked him about VPN technology and his thoughts. In his round about way of telling me, he told me to research it. He is a data guy but instead of telling me which one, he basically told me to look around.
So I did and I found one that had great reviews and cost was mininal per month. Yes, there was great VPNs on the market for free, but I chose to be a bit more on the side of caution by paying for a service.
First, make sure of its reputation, it's track record, do they keep logs or not, what type of encryption (trust me, that one is important), what type of capabilities, does it have a "kill" feature and what is the cost.
Being able to keep people, companies and governments at looking at your private emails, your Web browsing, and private conversations, is becoming a necessity n this world. Too many things are sucking our privacy away and this is one tool that will assist in keeping yourself and information  from prying eyes. Research every VPN and make your choice. And one other thing and it's sounds stupid, trust your gut feeling as to which one is the best for you.
On a side note, just yesterday, the news is telling us now that our smart TVs are vulnerable to hackers. I am reminded of George Orwells  book 1984. I am seeing frightening parallels of what our current society has become.
Maybe it is time to rethink about our love/lust for technology.

The Weaning Off of Social Media

Well....I went cold turkey on Facebook. And I quite honestly....I am glad I did it. I was finding that the time I wasted on social media garbage, the more stressed out and angry I was getting. Here is why.

The biggest culprit was the trolls. Everyone and everything has an opinion and if you don't agree with these bastards,  they usually went out their way to try making your life miserable by jamming up your twitter or Facebook page  with nonsense and threats. Then they went after your followers and friends for agreeing with your post.

This habitual band wagon mentality gets really tiresome just like the politically correct bullshit. Most people in the world are social by nature and are pretty much sheeple. They follow the current fad, current protest, current candle light vigil, while in the meantime they honestly think they are making a difference. To be truly honest they are not. Most people follow the crowd. Leader's  and leadership are being phased out at break neck speeds and when leadership rises up the social media crowd and news media crowd rise up and try to squash it.

We want to be lead but our way. If it goes away from their so called ideals, they cry, whine, and stomp their feet to get what they want. Sadly, they still won't get what they want. And if they do, what makes them think that their new leader would honestly do any better. Putting lipstick on a pig still makes it a pig. Just dressed differently but still the same drivel and bullshit. It doesn't matter if it is a Democrat or Republican in office, it still will not make problems go away. They need solid solutions, data and facts not hear say and bullshit.

Sorry, went off on a tangent there. Back to the topic. I went off the social media propaganda that I found the calmer me again. It's not for everyone, and it is extremely difficult especially since we live in a electronic society. But leaving it brought back sanity to me. We live in a really fucked up world and it goes out of its way to increase chaos and insanity.

My next move is to stop watching the news. Why you say?  Because they have become just as bad as social media, if not worse at times. They incite the crowds and social media to react to their leftist agendas which many adhere and follow. The government loves this. The more that they get to follow their agendas, the more control they have over us.
To be brutally honest, we are losing more and more of our freedoms and rights. In Canada, they are attacking the freedom of speech. The way this current government is going, it is looking more and more like a dictatorship and honestly screwing the tax payers over by giving our hard earned money away to everyone but denying or helping the very people that need it in Canada...Canadians. Our current government will dole out billions of dollars for immigrants and helping other countries before helping it's own citizen's.
Do you now know why I have to stop watching the news? It's driving me nuts.  And as many emails or meeting our MP'S or members of legislation, it all goes on deaf self serving ears.

So as I endeavor to walk away from mainstream media news...I hope to take more of an edge off my stress filled life. More to follow.....
